  • Agile: We use agile/scrum sprints and retros

  • Previous Projects:

    • Project Proposal: Airbnb Clone (example image above)

How you will learn

  • Sessions: Two sessions a week. It is essential that you attend both online sessions. 80% of attendance is required for graduation.

  • Guides - No teachers: You will work hands-on with our guides, who are industry experts volunteering to support you.

  • Teams - The Full Stack Circle will be split into smaller teams. Each team gets a project topic to work on for the full semester. Every group will provide regular updates with all the other teams to create an environment of shared learning.

  • Active Work: Note this is NOT a passive, lecture-style environment. Each learner is expected to be self-driven and motivated to code and work hands-on each week on the project. ReDI to start coding? Then join us!

ReDI Style

This course is about hands-on project work. There are no lectures. We work together on web development projects with your colleagues and a team of volunteers. We ask you to take over parts of a project and actively work on them. Are you ready to work hands-on and independently? Then join us!

Course Timeline

  • Weeks 1 & 2: Tools configuration, development environment setup, project management process overview

  • Weeks 3 - 14: Split into 2-week sprints. Each sprint contains a focus topic according to the project type that needs to be completed. Milestones will break down the project into smaller deliverables. Expect weekly homework (project work) during this period.

  • Demo Day: At the end of the semester, each team will present their projects to the audience of ReDI course community members.

A typical week

Tuesday 19:00 - 21:00

Thursday 19:00 - 21:00

Friday - Monday

You work on your weekly project milestone. That means you will be coding hands-on by yourself. If you run into problems, you can contact your class on Slack.

Onsite Activities

Based on your location there are different on-site activities. Find out more below.

If you are located in Berlin and surrounding, we invite you to four on-site community events throughout the semester.

Camera On Policy

This page explains ReDI School's camera-on policy, highlighting its importance and providing simple guidelines for active participation during online classes.

Policy Purpose

At ReDI School, we strive to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that mirrors the feeling of a real classroom. Keeping your camera on during class is an essential part of the ReDI Experience, helping us build a strong sense of community and create meaningful interactions.

We kindly ask all students to follow this policy to ensure the best possible experience for everyone involved.

Why is this important?

  • Builds a Real Classroom Experience: Seeing each other helps us connect and create a sense of community.

  • Respects Our Teachers' Efforts: Our volunteer teachers dedicate their time and expertise out of kindness. They value seeing your faces and engaging with you directly.

  • Encourages Participation: A camera-on policy promotes active participation and helps everyone feel more involved in the learning process.

Policy Guidelines

  1. Camera On During Class:

    • Keep your camera on throughout the session to be marked as present.

    • If your camera remains off for an extended period, it may result in being marked as absent.

  2. Short Breaks Are Okay:

    • You can turn your camera off briefly if you need to attend to something urgent or take a restroom break.

    • Communication is Key: Inform your teacher or classmates via the chat if you need to turn your camera off temporarily.

  3. Technical Issues:

    • If you’re facing technical difficulties with your camera, inform your teacher or class coordinator immediately.

What Happens If the Policy Is Not Followed?

  • Students who consistently keep their cameras off without a valid reason or fail to communicate may be considered absent for those sessions.

We believe that keeping your camera on helps foster better connections and enriches the learning experience for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

Let’s make the most of our classes together!
