Are you curious about how IT systems work behind the scenes? In this course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud computing. No prior experience is neededβ€”just your interest in understanding the backbone of modern technology. By the end, you’ll have a solid foundation to continue learning in fields like cybersecurity, cloud computing, or IT support. Join us and start your journey into the world of tech infrastructure!

Course Details

  • Classes: Tuesday & Thursday, 18:30 - 20:30

  • Time Invest: 15 hours per week

  • Timeline: Start Date is 16th of March 2026, End Date is 18th of June 2026 (14-weeks)

  • Hybrid: Certain events take place in person in the following locations: NRW, Berlin, Hamburg. More information

Key Aspects of the course

  • Blending Theory and Practice:

  • Final project: At the end of the course, you’ll tackle a final project. This is where you can apply everything from the course to create an end-to-end project and enhance your portfolio.

  • ReDI Style: This course is about active participation. You will be asked to work on weekly milestones independently. You are in charge of your learning journey. If you are open to taking this responsibility and being an active student, this course is for you!

  • Community: Our community is here to support you. You can ask questions, share insights, or connect with fellow learners and instructors through our Slack channel.

Content

  1. Network Fundamentals (Basics how Network work, Cables, Switches, VLANs, IP Addresses and subnetting, DNS, Routers and Routing, Network Address Translation)

  2. Cloud Infrastructure Fundamentals (Data Center Basics, IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) like Compute and Storage, Cloud Architecture and automation, Virtualization Basics)

  3. Workplace Fundamentals (Digital modern Workplaces, Windows 10 management, Microsoft Azure and Azure AD, Intune, Autopilot and Office 365)

  4. Career Workshops

  5. Job Readiness: Soft skills through career trainings geared towards preparing you for job applications & interviews, networking events and job fairs.

A typical week

Every Tuesday from 18:30 to 20:30, you have an online session in which you discuss your homework and where you will be introduced and practice new concepts.

Every Thursday from 18:30 to 20:30, you have an online session where the volunteer teachers introduce you to new concepts. They will share the weekly homework with you in this session.

You work on your weekly homework. That means you will be working hands-on by yourself! If you run into problems, you can contact your class on Slack. You upload your homework before the Monday session.

Onsite Activities - Berlin & NRW

If you are located in Berlin and surrounding, we invite you to four on-site community events throughout the semester.

How to Graduate from the Course?

To graduate and receive the ReDI Certificate, we ask you to:

  • Attended 80% of the sessions (We have a camera on policy)

  • Submit 80% of homework and a final project

After the course

  • You are ready to step up to more advanced Infrastructure topics

  • You understand how networks operate, how Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is set up on Clouds (like AWS, Azure, …) and how a modern Windows workplace is set up.

Complete it before the application deadline. Start early! The Prework might take up to 20 hours in total. The deadline is stated in the email with the link to the application form.
