Preparation Steps

Why are the Preparation Steps so Important

Before the start of the career project, we will match you with a mentor to support you in developing your goals. However, before we begin, and to make the maximum out of your mentoring experience, we'll need you to start thinking in which direction you'd like to orientate your career towards and to prepare the first draft of your most important deliverables.

This will allow you to:

  • Gain clarity: having an idea of which career path to pursue helps you focus your learning and development efforts. It also enables the mentor to provide more relevant advice, targeted guidance and resources.

  • Maximising the Value of Mentorship: sessions are limited in time. Having materials prepared allows both you and mentor to dive directly into constructive feedback and actionable advice rather than starting from scratch.

  • Demonstrating Commitment to your professional growth. Preparedness reflects a professional attitude, which can positively influence the mentor’s perception and willingness to invest time and resources into the mentee’s development.

  • Enhancing Self-Awareness and Clarity: preparing the deliverables requires you to reflect on your own skills, experiences, and achievements. This self-assessment is crucial for understanding your strengths and areas for improvement.
