Learning Mindset

Growth Mindset

  • First of all, congratulations. You made it into the bootcamp. You already dedicated your time and energy to getting started and finishing the Prework. You already learned the basics! And we know you can achieve a lot more!

  • We know you can achieve your goals. You know it, too! We have seen in the past that ReDI students get jobs. You probably have seen or heard them as well. You can develop your abilities through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. This way of thinking is called a growth mindset.

  • Let’s develop a growth mindset. You will encounter problems and tasks that seem just too difficult. Don’t run away from difficulty. Try confronting the errors. You are on a learning curve, which is how you develop your abilities.

  • If you don't understand a concept - you haven't understood it just yet. But you will in the future. Just dedicate time to it, and it will come :)

  • Learning new things is about trying out and learning from the errors you encounter.

  • Don’t worry about errors. Embrace them! This is how you learn.

  • Learning a new skill is not about talent. You develop your abilities.

Work Independently

  • This program is a lot about working independently. You work on your project and weekly milestones independently. Of course, you receive support from the teachers, coaches, and fellow students. However, you need to dedicate your time to the project work independently. It is your responsibility to progress in them. How much you progress depends on how much time and effort you put in.

  • Working independently is all about managing yourself. Your time is limited and precious. Let’s make sure it is targeted towards achieving your goal.

  • Focus - Learning about Tech can take years, and you still won't be finished. We need to make sure to learn only the concepts that are relevant to getting a job. Let’s be very smart about what we learn. Focus on achieving your milestone. Try to resist the urge to learn things not key to achieving your milestone.

Ask For Support & help others

  • Seek support. Don’t worry about not knowing or making an error. If you ask for support, you can learn from the mistake.

  • Ask questions, ask for help. And once you see someone else struggling or has a question, help them too! We all want to grow together.
