I cannot teach / Dropout

As part of team planning, all teachers are asked to share their availability in advance during the Planning Session (before the semester) and review it again during the Teacher Touchpoint (mid-semester). This includes signing up for teaching sessions and volunteering as a backup if needed.

As part of a teaching team (not a solo role), clear communication and commitment are essential to ensure a smooth learning experience for students, teachers, and the ReDI Support Team.

I can't teach a session

No worries—things happen! Let’s work together to find a substitute:

  • Up to one week before: Inform your team and request a substitute by checking your Course Sheet to see who is available. Post the message in your teaching team Slack channel and use @channel so everyone receives it promptly.

  • Two days or less: Post in your team channel as soon as possible and contact the ReDI Support Team directly. We’ll help find a substitute, either within your team or from another teaching team who feels comfortable stepping in.

We will inform the students about any changes. Our priority is to still hold the class—even if it needs to be shorter—since this is an important time for students to connect and learn. Cancelling a class is always a last resort.

Drop Out

We understand that, due to personal or professional circumstances, a teacher may sometimes decide to step away from a class. We fully respect this decision and truly appreciate the time and effort you have contributed so far. Our goal is to support you through the transition and ensure it is as smooth as possible for everyone involved.

If you decide to leave a class, please follow these steps:

  • Notify a member of the ReDI Team about your decision.

  • Inform your teaching team. You may share your reasons if you feel comfortable doing so.

  • You will then be removed from the Course Slack channel and the Google Calendar.

  • Let us know if you need any proof of volunteering. Please be patient since this is not a regular request, so we prioritize the course management.

  • Finally, please complete this questionnaire.arrow-up-right
