The Final Project is the highlight of the semester and an essential part of the learning journey at ReDI. The students apply their new skills and knowledge to work on one project.
Students demonstrate their knowledge with the final project. The final project is a perfect time to recap on everything they learned. The final project can become part of the student's portfolio.
The project phase begins after the core curriculum is completed.
Learners will:
Work individually or in small groups (up to 3 people)
Choose their own project topic with teacher guidance
Use the skills learned throughout the course (Python, conditionals, loops, functions, file handling, data analysis)
Each project should:
Be relevant to what was learned in the course
Include working Python code
Be presented clearly, with a short demo or explanation
Students choose their own project topic with teacher guidance. Project types may include:
Further Ideas:
Password Manager - A tool which can generate and store passwords. May include some basic security features if time permits.
Salary Payment System - Salary estimation for different kind of employments
Wordcount Tool - Script which takes text files as an input and calculates word frequency. May include multiple formats if time permits.
Any idea that feels achievable and interesting!

Demo Day
We aim to run an on-site Demo Day in each location with all courses together. The date and concept are to be confirmed.
π§ͺ Internal Demo Day: All learners present to their class. One project will be selected for the official Demo Day.
π Demo Day: Selected projects from each course are showcased to the full ReDI community
To help learners prepare their pitch, hereβs a suggested format:
Length: Max. 5 minutes
Mode: Slides or Live Demonstration
Proposed Structure:
Intro β Whatβs the project, and what problem does it solve?
Demo β Show the live website
Challenges & Learning β What went well? What was hard? What did you learn?
π§βπ« Encourage learners to rehearse and help each other practice!
To receive a ReDI certificate, learners must:
Attend at least 80% of the course
Participate in 2 Career Workshops
Complete and present a Final Project
Attend the Internal Demo Day
Complete 2 IBM SkillsBuild Courses
π¬ βWe grow by doing, and by helping each other.β
Encourage a supportive, collaborative learning environment.
Foster confidence through feedback and peer encouragement.
Use class time for project work, check-ins, and guidance.
